Tenga Egg "Wavy" REVIEW: Ever Wonder What Happens When You Put All Your Eggs In One Basket?

A couple years ago Tenga was a name hardly anyone had even heard of. Today, they are known for some of the best and most innovative products in the male masturbation-sleeves market. While I may not have exactly the right equipment, I didn’t want to let that stop me from sampling one of their toys that so many others are raving about.

The Tenga Eggs appealed to me after a disastrous experience in the beginning of my married life. Imagine, a younger and less experienced me (and I cringe as I admit this) excitedly wielding a rubbery jelly sleeve in an attempt to introduce something new to my new husband. Not only did he complain how uncomfortable and downright painful the sleeve was, but a few days later when I went to pull out one of my solo toys, I found it partially melted all over my dresser drawer and its contents. My husband, with that one grievous experience, declared he was not interested in trying anything new again.

Fast-forward seven years and a lot of education later. Package after package of my own toys in the mail, and I could see the curiosity creeping into his eyes again. This time I knew I would be able to pick something that was at least worth trying, I just had to win him over. And I had a feeling he would say no. So I did what any good wife would do and introduced an Egg while he was not paying attention and already half-way to orgasm.

I had pre-lubed the “wavy” Egg with the included water-based lube and kept it held between my legs so it would warm while I was getting ready for it. If you’ve never felt one of the Tenga Eggs before, let me describe it a bit for you. The product is aptly named after the white eggshell it comes encased in. Just remove the plastic security wrapper, open the case like you would a child’s Easter egg, and pull out the soft silicone sleeve. Inside of the sleeve is a one-time use package of Tenga lube rolled up inside.
So, here we have a very thin, milky-colored, egg shaped membrane with a hole on the end. The outside is completely smooth, with all the texture being on the inside. The “wavy” egg has ribs that that lap, one under the other, from the top to the bottom. If there were words to describe how amazingly soft and supple this feels all lubed up, I would use them. I thought it might feel tacky inside, but it was extremely moist. I thought the waves might have some rigidity to them, but they couldn’t have been more pliable. All in all, I had high hopes, but was a bit unsure how well this 2” sleeve would accommodate, well… much of anything.

When the time was right grabbed the Egg from between my thighs, pleased that it warmed very quickly to body temperature. I eased it down over the top part of his shaft, finding that it expanded quite well to fit his girth without discomfort. I grabbed a bit more firmly at the base of the toy and found it stretched quite well down most of the length of him as well. When stretched like this, the material becomes mostly clear and very thin. For this reason, I did not even try to stretch it complete down over him, but at least a good 5-6” without feeling like it was going to break.

PERFORMANCE: PRO’S

This toy was a big hit for us. It was easy to use. Comfortable. But what we liked most? Rather than being a toy that I used on him, it was more like an extension of me. Because the material was thin, he could feel not only the silky texture of the sleeve, but my fingers, my grip, the heat of my hand while I used it on him. I felt like I was customizing the performance rather than just holding onto it while it did the work. This alone has me giving it some of my highest marks for being couple friendly. Oh yeah, and it’s pretty hot when he orgasms… you can actually see it as it fills the tip of the sleeve.

A second possible use for this is turning it inside out and slipping it over the head of the Hitachi Magic Wand (which gives another clue to how much it will stretch in diameter). Now that beautiful, silky texture can glide over the clit for her pleasure. Honestly, though? I don’t care much for the Hitachi, I feel the vibrations are too buzzy and diffuse. But that’s the vibrator’s fault, not the Egg, so I still count this as a pro.

PERFORMANCE: CON’S

There’s really only one con for me, but it is a big one. This toy is not intended for multiple uses. Yes, some users have managed anywhere from one to one dozen sessions with cautious use and careful cleaning, but do you really want to have to be that careful? And while the Eggs aren’t that expensive in general (about $10 for one), if you think of that as $10 for one use, it’s pretty pricy. And you can’t say when you buy it if you’ll be the one to get just one use, or several.

On that, mine lasted just one use. I caught my nail on the entrance when trying to clean it, which just caused it to rip open.

CONCLUSION

Despite the limited uses and cost, this is still a pretty great toy for what it is. Like I said, it would be hard to find something similar that allows for such intimate couple’s play without taking away what makes it so great to have someone using on him, rather than just using it alone. Point being, I will buy another one in the future to use on special occasions… like picking up lingerie. Can’t afford it all the time, but it’s nice to have something new every once in awhile. But if you are looking for something for long-term or consistent use, I’d look more toward a Fleshlight or Tenga Flip.

Thank you Babeland for sending me a Tenga Egg to review!
