| LOVE IT RATING |
I was looking to add a small, affordable, water-proof vibe to my arsenal recently and decided to try Posh by California Exotics. It arrived in a recloseable plastic clamshell with a brief insert on how to insert the batteries. Though it could be used for storage, I do suggest a toy pouch, which was not included.
The Posh is made of medical-grade, body-safe silicone. It feels extremely soft and smooth, but it does have a bit of drag, so I suggest a bit of water-based lube so it slides gently on the lady bits. This is not a flexible toy by any means, it seems to have plastic or some other hard material under the silicone that provides for no flexibility or squishiness.
Posh’s design looks like a vibrator in miniature. Honestly, at 5 ½” long (4” insertable, 1 ¼” diameter), it can be inserted, but I found it to feel underwhelming inside. It’s just not quite long enough to thrust with or felt deeply, too thin to feel filling, and too short and straight to angle for g-spotting.
With no safety base, it should not be inserted anally, period.
So that brings us to its best use, which is an external stimulator. It does have a noticeably raised bulls-eye at the tip on one side which can be rubbed against the nipples or clit for extra stimulation. I consider mine a clit-o-steel, and as such, the bulls-eye was felt, but didn’t do much for me. On the other hand, I fear some sensitive users may find it too stimulating. Like it or not, by simply twisting a quarter turn, the bulls-eye disappears and is no longer an issue.
Posh’s greatest feature is its moderately powered, deep-rumbling vibrations. The vibrations are diffused throughout the shaft, and become more and more concentrated towards the tip. They can also be adjusted to two speeds, low and high, via the single push-button on the bottom of cap.
I would compare the power of the vibrations to that of a good bullet. They are pretty strong, but not a total powerhouse either. So what really makes this toy better than a bullet are two things. First of all, unlike a bullet which can numb your hand after holding it for awhile, the handle on Posh filters out most of the vibration, making it more comfortable to hold.
The second best feature Posh offers is that it is water-proof. It is pretty quiet in general, and probably wouldn’t be heard outside of closed door or over white noise, and it certainly isn’t heard over the sound of the shower. So this toy is really perfect as a shower buddy, or discreet toy for those who don’t live alone.
Because it is silicone, it is compatible only with water-based lubricants. It can be cleaned with mild soap and warm water or sanitized with a 10% bleach solution, and should be stored with the 1 AA battery removed to extend battery-life. Keep in a toy pouch, as this is a lint collector, away from other toys such as jellies and realistics.
