MATERIAL / TEXTURE-----The G-play’s pure brushed silicone is butter-soft and silky smooth. It rivals the most perfect rose’s petals in its satin softness. It may even rival Lelo for my all-time favorite feeling silicone.
It is actually seducing my hand as I sit here holding it. Yep, definitely my favorite.
There is a soft seam that funs completely around the toy, but I can barely see it, and I cannot feel it all… with my fingers, or in use. This silicone creates no drag, and only a small amount of lubricant is needed during use. It has only the lightest of scents, which seems to be from the soap I used to clean it with. There is no taste what-so-ever.
DESIGN / SHAPE / SIZE-----I wish there was a fancier word to describe how wonderfully effective this little toy is. Usually a toy of this size would leave me feeling unsatisfied, but the amazing curves the G-play sports make the most of its modest size. The shaft is more an oval shape (reflecting its base), than a perfect circle, enhancing the “S” of the curves. The head (reminds me slightly of a hammer head) creates the first lovely pop, and is only a hair over 1 inch diameter. The widest point over the curves only rounds out to 1 ¼ inches, and the base stems down to just under 1 inch. The entire toy is only 4 inches, 3 ½ of which are insertable.
The G-play has a solid inner core, which means it has only the slightest amount of give when squeezed, and only is not really flexible at all. It is because of this that the G-play feels larger in use than it actually is, and is able to find and caress the g-spot so effectively. It is also because of this that I have to recommend that those who are considering this for anal play should be experienced users. For vaginal use, I suspect that most women could use the G-play with no problems. For anyone who is inexperienced or has reservations about the G-plays size, I am happy to say that Nexus does have smaller alternatives.
G-play would be wonderful to take on vacation, so long as the battery is removed first to prevent accidental powering. He would tuck easily into a purse for traveling, but if there are concerns he may be discovered, it is probably wise to put him with checked luggage as no one will likely be fooled by what he is.
FUNCTIONS / PERFORMANCE / CONTROLS-----There is a lot to love about this toy, but the controls are not it! There are two main reasons I hate the controls. First of all, there is only one button that both turns the toy on and off, and scrolls through the five vibration patterns. It is small, slippery in use, and hard to push. Its also hard to find, let alone reach, in use. So be sure to find the setting you want before inserting the G-play. My second big issue is that in order to turn the toy off, you have to hold down the power button for 3 seconds. So, you not only have to struggle to find this button, you have to press firmly down on it for 3 seconds. And because one of the vibration patterns has an extended pause, its easy to think its turned off when it is actually still on.
Onto the part I do love about this toy… OMG… the performance. I would love this toy even if it didn’t vibrate… but it does. And it the vibrations are so effective. They are located primarily in the head of the G-play. They are high frequency, almost buzzy, and moderate in intensity. Personally, I find that this is only strong enough for a warm-up on my clit, but it feels wonderful inside. The patterns are as follows:
1.) low to high constant escalating, followed by fast pulse.

2.) long fast pulses with extended stops.

3.) high constant.

4.) long high pulse with short stops.

5.) rhythmic escalating low to high, punctuated by a defined pause.

I love that the G-play can feel like a whole new toy just by turning it in the opposite direction. The intended way to use it is with the “hook” pointing up towards the g-spot. The hook automatically finds the g-spot, and the second curve provides a feeling of fullness at the entrance. For those who have very sensitive pubic bones, the hook side may actually be too intense, as it really does hook the bone. However, fear not, by simply rotating the toy a half turn, the back half of the hook in much less dramatic. And the pronounced curve will provide a second stimulation to the g-spot. And while your g-spot is getting a double dose of stimulation, the hook side (now facing down) stimulates the ps-spot (perineal sponge) perfectly. Wow!
Anally, I can only recommend this toy to experienced users. The shape really makes the toy feel larger than it is, and I wasn’t able to get past the head, though I tried. If subsequent attempts are more successful, I will include more info in a follow-up.
This toy is pretty quiet. It won’t be heard through a closed door with some white noise, but if you have a partner sleeping next to you, you won’t be fooling anyone.
I should mention also, never use this toy anally, and then attempt to use vaginally without using/changing condoms or sanitizing. Likewise, always use condoms when sharing this toy with a partner.
To increase battery life, remove the one AAA battery when not in use. This particular silicone is not a lint collector of any sort. It should be stored with other silicone toys, preferably in a toy pouch, which is not included, so be sure to add one to your order.
PACKAGING-----The packaging of the Nexus G-play is simplistic, but effectively demonstrates class. The box is a matte black with silver, hot pink, and navy blue lettering. There is a tilted peek-a-boo oval that showcases the G-play, and a sample of the silicone on the box. All necessary instructions are found on the back of the box, and there is a small included leaflet featuring other products in the velvety black slide-out tray that the G-play is held in.
While the box could be used for long-term storage, it is probably too bulky for most. It would be more easily stored in a toy pouch. The box would be easily wrapped for gift-giving… and the G-play would make one hell of a nice gift!
